Webnerdybirb • 1 yr. ago. if i had to guess caltech honestly probably denied upwards of 1000 “qualified applicants” this year so i have no doubt that many of us on this subreddit were (including you!). with the fact that their application pool was probably near 18000 and they only admit around 500, they have the same problem that MIT ... WebEveryone here hates it here. Do not come here. Save yourself while you still can... Caltech: Nice place to be from, but not a nice place to be at. Super accurate. I dunno man, you often had a smile on your face while serving your sentence. well that's a false statement - I love it here at caltech lol... so at least one person doesn't hate it ...

I've been asked if Caltech is a Cal Poly school or if it's a community college. Caltech also has a unique student culture that might be of interest. WebCalTech has a class of about 250 and it would feel like harder version of high-school. MIT of course. career opportunities are much better (especially if you aren't going to grad school), alumni network is much better, location is much better. plus caltech is too small and too research-oriented.
